Join us at Chatsworth for an immersive drawing course led by experienced artist and teacher, Kim Bevan.
About the course
This course will guide you through a range of drawing techniques, from understanding your tools to mastering observational drawing.
You’ll have the opportunity to discuss and review your work with fellow participants.
Over the six week course, we will explore line, colour, shape and tone, experience outdoor drawing exercises focusing on the flora and fauna found around the Chatsworth Garden and take part in studio sessions which will challenge your observation skills through precise measuring techniques.
Each session encourages you to take risks and be creative, helping you build a portfolio of artwork to take home.
Course Outline:
Fundamentals - Master the basics with wet and dry drawing media. Experiment with new tools and techniques for mark making.
Observation - Enhance your still life drawing skills and explore a range of media, focusing on the art of observation.
Mixed Media - Create unique images by combining different media, surfaces, and colours.
Composition - Explore the relationships between objects and develop compositional studies of still life using your chosen media and techniques.
No previous drawing experience is required. You’ll be guided through each step, with our tutor on hand to answer any questions.
All materials are provided, but feel free to bring your own sketchbooks or drawing tools if you prefer.
This course is perfect for anyone looking to enhance their drawing skills, explore new techniques, and create beautiful compositions in a supportive environment.
