Help restore the Cascade

The Grade I listed Cascade is one of Chatsworth's best-loved features and was created for the 1st Duke in 1696. After centuries of wear, the Cascade is in need of essential restoration. Help the Chatsworth House Trust charity turn it back on by sponsoring a stone or making a donation.

Chatsworth House has long been known as a centre for creativity and features art and artefacts that span 4,000 years. Explore over 25 rooms in the stately home, including the Painted Hall, State Rooms and Sculpture Gallery. Discover the history of the Devonshire family and how seventeen generations have each contributed to the creation of one of Derbyshire's finest country houses. 

Chatsworth is cared for by Chatsworth House Trust, a registered charity established in 1981.

Garden

Explore Chatsworth Garden, the ever-evolving garden surrounding one of Derbyshire’s most popular country houses. The 105-acre garden is the product of nearly 500 years of careful cultivation and includes an arboretum, rock garden, fountains, sculptures and more.

Marvel at the historic and modern waterworks, discover hidden gems or find your own favourite spot – the historic garden has something for everyone.

Farmyard & playground

Closed for winter conservation. Reopens 14-22 February 2026

The farmyard has been a favourite day out for children since 1973. There are so many farmyard friends to meet, from Eugenie the rare breed Suffolk Punch mare to Itsy and Bitsy the pygmy goats. 

Take the secret tunnel to the playground for exciting woodland adventures, with tall towers to climb, slides, swings, sand and water play.
