In this weekend workshop, you'll learn how to design, carve, ink, and print your very own multi-coloured jigsaw linocut print.
About the workshop
Working with experienced tutor, Diane Cooper, you’ll be guided through the process of creating a multi-colour print using the jigsaw technique.
You’ll learn to break down an image into different sections to form an effective design. You'll select your own colour palette, carve each piece of your design, and ink up the individual sections in your chosen colours. Finally, you will reassemble the pieces and use hand burnishing to bring your print to life.
By the end of the workshop, you’ll print a small edition of your design, and can take home your carved lino block for future use.
You’re welcome to bring your own images for inspiration or select from those provided.
No previous experience in printmaking is required, and the workshop is designed for adults (18+). Please note that printmaking can be messy, so we recommend bringing an apron or wearing suitable clothing.
Meeting point and refreshments
Please meet at the top garden gates (near the Stables) at 9.50am for a 10am start.
Tea and coffee will be provided.
We'll also break for lunch. Please bring a packed lunch, or you can purchase hot meals, soup, and sandwiches in The Carriage House Café.
Accessibility
The Old Potting Shed is a step free, accessible venue but please contact education@chatsworth.org if you have any questions about your specific needs or require an essential carer ticket.
