Join the Chatsworth Landscape team on a practical Dead Hedging Workshop in the Stand Wood, where you’ll learn how to create wildlife-friendly hedges using natural materials. Dead hedging is a traditional countryside skill that helps manage woodland, create habitats and define boundaries without the need for fencing.
The session will begin with a 30-minute demonstration where you will be introduced to the principles of dead hedging, shown how to select suitable materials and guided through key skills needed to build a long-lasting hedge.
After the demonstration, participants will work together to construct a dead hedge, using coppiced silver birch collected on the estate. The session is hands-on, with plenty of opportunity to ask questions.

This event takes place in the Stand Wood. Please meet at the Lodge in front of Chatsworth House at 9.45am.
