Half-length portrait drawing of a boy with a hunchback, looking over his hunched shoulder towards the viewer. This early and moving drawing is believed to be one of the sketches from life as he saw it around him, for which Carracci was famous.
His inscription to the right of the boy reads 'Non so se Dio m'aiuta' (I do not know if God helps me); the positioning of this caption would suggest that the words were spoken by the boy himself.
