Accessing works of art
The Devonshire Collections are cared for by Chatsworth House Trust and our Collections Study Room accommodates researchers from around the world. This forms part of our commitment to sharing Chatsworth’s incredible heritage in order to inspire, engage, and welcome everyone.
Our Study Room is open Monday to Friday, 10am-1pm and 2pm-4.30pm, excluding UK Bank Holidays.
We require a minimum of two weeks' notice for all study visits, and may not always be able to accommodate researchers on the day of their choice due to capacity.

On the day of your visit
We have small lockers to accommodate personal possessions; please do not bring large bags or luggage.
When you arrive, please report to the Porters’ Lodge, which is to the left of the main entrance to the house.
You will be issued with a visitor’s badge and met by a member of the Collections department who will take you to the location where you will view the work of art.
