Event details
Friday 13 - Sunday 15 June
Entry is included with all 'house and garden' and 'garden' tickets.
Join us as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of the birth of Jane Austen, alongside the 20th anniversary of Chatsworth House being immortalised on screen as 'Pemberley', home of one of Austen's best-loved characters Mr Darcy, in the 2005 film adaptation starring Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen.
On each of three days you can experience a range of talks delivered by Austen experts, including Professor John Mullan and author Sophie Andrews, plus live theatrical performances and dressing up opportunities inspired by the Regency era included with your house and garden, or garden admission.
There are other Regency-themed events taking place over the weekend for which a separate ticket is required. View our timetable to find out more.
Regency dress is optional but encouraged.
Garden Access
Tickets include access to our 105-acre garden, with picturesque walking routes, a kitchen and cutting garden, a Victorian rock garden, water features, and access to our Orangery Gift Shop and Flora's Temple Teas.
Actors from The Natural Theatre Company will be performing an original Austen inspired production each day, with opportunities for visitors to get involved.

Pre-release items for Austen enthusiasts
In association with publishers and record companies, Chatsworth has been selected to offer exclusive pre-release copies of Austen-collectables, which will be available from the Orangery shop over the weekend of the festival.
Film score
Universal Records has produced a twentieth anniversary deluxe mauve vinyl edition of the Pride and Prejudice movie soundtrack, which will be available at Chatsworth ahead of its worldwide release on 27 June.
Dario Marianelli’s beloved score is performed by acclaimed pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet and the English Chamber Orchestra. The newly designed special edition is pressed on transparent mauve vinyl, housed in a deluxe gatefold jacket and contains a 16-page booklet with rare photos.
Pride & Prejudice with Letters, Deluxe Collector's Edition
Ahead of its release by Chronicle Books on 11 September, visitors can also purchase this collector's edition of Pride and Prejudice, which includes a deluxe, cloth-bound, two-volume set with pockets containing nineteen enchanting handwritten replicas of the characters' letters. From Mr. Collins’s letter of introduction to Jane’s urgent missive announcing Lydia’s elopement, readers can pull out each piece, peruse its contents, and feel transported to the breakfast table at Longbourn.
This new 2025 edition extends the experience, and includes a newspaper clipping announcing that Netherfield Park is available to let, an invitation to the ball at Netherfield, an illustrated guide to Pemberley, Darcy and Elizabeth’s marriage licence, and the first four manuscript pages of Austen’s unfinished novel 'The Watsons'.
