By investing in the regeneration of the areas around our estates in Derbyshire and Yorkshire, we will enable the creation of 1000 homes for local families and 1000 jobs for local people.
2024
To date, the Group has delivered on deals to provide over 250 homes in both Derbyshire and Yorkshire, with work now having commenced on those sites. Deals have also been agreed which will deliver 174 homes, and planning has been approved for a further 509 homes.
2023
In 2023, the Devonshire Group completed work on a collection of brand new industrial warehouse units on the northern edge of Staveley. With six units totalling 22,832 sq. ft., Hartington Business Park is expected to support 28-36 jobs once fully occupied. The first tenants, the Derbyshire Pie Company, took occupation of their unit at the start of June.
2021
The acquisition by the Group of the Peak Village retail and leisure destination in January 2021 has helped to secure between 80-100 jobs, and with the investment and proactive management it is hoped to increase this further over the coming years.
On other projects, our development partner, HBD, submitted a planning application in the summer of 2021 to construct c700,000 sq ft of industrial space at the highly successful Markham Vale Business Park off junction 29a of the M1. Once occupied these units could provide in the region of 800 new jobs for the local economy.
2020
In October 2020, planning permission was achieved to provide up to 650 new homes at Mastin Moor in Chesterfield, and work is well advanced on the pre-development technical work to enable those homes to be constructed in the future. As part of that scheme, the Group has been working with Chesterfield Borough Council and its partners to deliver a Construction Skills Hub on site, which will help train the construction workforce of the future.
2019
In September 2019, a deal was completed to develop 11 new properties in the Derbyshire village of Palterton. Our developer partner, Atkinson’s of Chesterfield, intend to re-develop this vacant farmyard by demolishing the old steel framed and asbestos clad outbuildings, and building new homes where they once stood. They also intend to convert the old stone barns alongside the original farmhouse, breathing new life back into the property.
