It takes around two days to prepare the 24ft Christmas tree in the Painted Hall. Thankfully, it's one of the most photographed trees of the season so the efforts of our landscape, health and safety, and Christmas design teams are well worth it.
Around twelve team members carefully carry in the British-grown Christmas tree into the Painted Hall and hoist it into position. The Christmas team then get to work, using scaffolds, cherry pickers and ladders to dress it with 4000 fairy lights, and more than 4,500 baubles.
