Father Christmas and his elves have taken time out of their busy Christmas schedule to drop into the farmyard at Chatsworth. You can meet them in the Oak Barn, where Father Christmas will share one of his favourite seasonal stories with you and other visiting families.

You'll also have the opportunity to meet him (remember to charge your cameras/phones).

Afterwards, you can make some reindeer food with the elves, ready to leave out on Christmas Eve, and will receive a small gift to take home.

Tickets include:

  • the storytime session with Father Christmas at the farmyard
  • reindeer food making with the elves
  • a small gift for each child (suitable for ages up to 11)
  • access to the farmyard and adventure playground*
  • a hot drink voucher for adult ticketholders from the farmyard cafe
  • parking for one vehicle per transaction

Important information

All children ages 0 to 16 years must book tickets for this event and must be accompanied by an adult.

* You may access the farmyard and playground at any point on the day of your visit. Please check opening and last entry times here and make sure you leave enough time for your visit.

Christmas is the busiest time of the year at Chatsworth, and our parking arrangements will be different to those you are used to.

On arrival, you may be directed to park on the trackway in the parkland where our tractor and trailer shuttle bus can take you to and from the main house car park. Please, therefore, leave plenty of time to travel to your destination, dress appropriately for the weather, and have access to a torch.

Meeting point

Please meet at the farmyard entrance 10 minutes before your session time. Latecomers may not be admitted, and no refunds will be given.

Accessibility

This event will take place in the Oak Barn at the farmyard. The Oak Barn is located on the upper level, which is accessible by lift. There are accessible toilets at the farmyard.

If you have any questions about accessibility or require a carer ticket, please email farmyard@chatsworth.org

Autism Friendly Sessions

On 19 December (10.15am to 11am), 21 December (2pm to 2.45pm) & 23 December (4.15pm to 5pm), we will be offering quieter sessions of our Storytime with Father Christmas event, which will deliver the same magical experience in a more relaxed environment. Fewer tickets are available so we're able to offer more support to individual children, and background music and lighting levels will be reduced.
